I bought these to replace the original lid for my glass so I can keep using it after the part that kept it from spilling broke is. So these are fine. They're not absolute junk, but they're not spectacular. They fit the standard cup I needed and when closed they are basically airtight (driving, carrying etc - NOT if dropped or tipped on their side). They retain heat very well for several hours when closed and not in a direct flow of cold air. destroy it. I didn't break the plastic, the sliding part still slides up and down smoothly. a little too smooth. The problem isn't that something broke, it's that somehow removing and re-inserting the slide has become too loose and now the slide no longer holds when drinking. I checked, nothing really broke - only. it just doesn't work. That's very disappointing. I'm in the process of attaching my piece of this poster putty to keep it where I put it, but I'll be looking for a replacement again.
