Two stars for misleading description: 1. This is by no means a climbing rope. The presence of a climbing rope on the outer layer does not make it a climbing rope in any way. I have a dog leash that is actually a climbing rope. It has a lot more payout (this one has almost none), but it costs twice as much. In addition, this leash is quite comfortable to hold and appears to be durable.2. Orange rope has no reflectivity, while black rope has one reflective strand instead of three. Three strands make it clear enough at night, but one fails to impress and none of them disappoint. I find the grip comfortable, but my wife has smaller hands and finds the grip too thick. We have two dogs and there is no way to hold both leashes in one hand plus a loop around each leash to make them shorter. She could have handled it without the foam grip. You may like the pen, but it doesn't suit us. We like this leash because it looks nice and is quite durable considering the price. We might have overlooked the attempt to pass off the rope as a climbing rope, but the lack of reflectivity was a deal killer for us.
