UPDATE***. The seller contacted me and said he took my advice. Drainage holes are made at the bottom where liquid collects. That's all. There is no substitute. It seems like a ploy to trick me into giving a higher rating. I figured I'd buy one of the best replacement filters available. This filter would get 5 stars if it wasn't improperly constructed. At the bottom is a lid about 1/2 inch high that is filled with brewed coffee. It doesn't have drainage holes like the rest of the filter, so it acts like a reservoir and fills with coffee and liquid. I don't want to throw liquid coffee in the trash with ground coffee.
