Update: Seller offered a full refund if I update my rating. The mesh size is too large for most types of grinding. I only use it for dousing. I like strong coffee, so finely ground. This leaves too much ground coffee in the coffee and the coffee becomes grainy and cloudy. Even typical store-bought ground coffee is too fine and too much coffee passes through this filter.

The product corresponds to the description and photos. It appears to be well constructed. The pores are small, there are enough of them. The filter seems to work just like the traditional screen it replaced. The main advantages of this filter compared to the "Gold" screen options: 1) It is easier to clean due to the smooth inner and outer surface; 2) It is stronger and resists friction at will.

UPDATE***. The seller contacted me and said he took my advice. Drainage holes are made at the bottom where liquid collects. That's all. There is no substitute. The reason I bought this filter was because I had a weird brand of coffee maker and couldn't use the standard size #4 gold filter anymore. This filter is about half an inch shorter and an inch shorter at the bottom. This makes it perfect for almost any coffee pot that has a filter. This is an excellent quality filter; much better than "gold" and plastic filters. It's well constructed, very easy to clean, and fairly strong/durable. Because it is stainless steel, unlike the plastic of gold filters, it does not absorb tastes and odors. I highly recommend this filter.
