This is an excellent quality filter; much better than "gold" and plastic filters. It's well constructed, very easy to clean, and fairly strong/durable. Because it is stainless steel, unlike the plastic of gold filters, it does not absorb tastes and odors. I highly recommend this filter. Additional rating after 1 month of use: I would not change my original rating and still highly recommend this filter, but I will note 1 design flaw and 1 feature to note. Note that the filter can be placed higher in your coffee maker than the "gold" plastic filters, and it needs to be firmly attached to allow the top of the coffee maker to be completely closed (as is the case with mine). . Since it is placed higher, the coffee grounds also rise higher. Missing attachment of the handle to lift the basket; it is more noticeable due to the tightness of the filter (due to the circumference of its outer edge). The handle protrudes slightly on both sides of the basket and can sometimes come loose. It slides easily into the indentations and is no more than a minor inconvenience. All in all I still love this filter and expect it to last longer or even longer than my Cuisinart coffee maker!
