I should have paid more and it got better. Buyer warning!

I bought a new iMac 27" with Apple 8GB RAM A-Tech 2x8GB RAM1). Slots 2 and 4 (closest to iMac 4). The A-Tech RAM was not in the Installed in slots 1 and 3 (iMac wouldn't boot), so we had to move Apple RAM to 1 and 3 and A-Tech storage to 2 and 4. Strange.2) This new iMac had dozens of smaller ones from day one My old 24" iMac from 2011 never had any problems. Too many things to mention, but here are a few: (a) audio levels gradually drop and then disappear, it takes a few reboots to fix them / (b) for no reason, the fans keep running at full speed speed up and make an awful - and quite frankly scary - noise. 3) I've had to restart this new iMac more times than any other iMacs I've owned combined (and I've been buying them since the late 1980s!) 4). Last week I finally took out the A-Tech RAM and put the Apple RAM back into slots 2 and 4 and then rebooted. 5). All of my little problems went *instantly*. The computer - now with 8GB of RAM - runs like a dream and seems a little surprisingly faster than it was when A-Tech RAM was installed and I was running it with 24GB of RAM.6). In my case, buying cheap RAM was a terrible mistake. Next time I'll use Crucial RAM.
