The instructions don't say there is a plug in the hole of the brush that you need to screw the handle into. It must be removed before the handle can be screwed in. Then when you have everything together, the rotating part of the dustpan that holds the handle will not stand up whether the broom is in the handle holder or not. It folds to one side or the other and doesn't snap into place like my OXO version. The handle portion of the dust collector is also very flimsy and doesn't look like it will last very long, even when it snaps into place. When assembling, you need to figure out which parts go with the brush and which parts with the dustpan. The parts are not labeled, although the diagram shows each part has a corresponding number.
