Good updates, Footfitter

This tool is an update on a tried-and-true cobblers' tool. I borrowed a vintage ball and ring from a friend and used it to adjust several pairs of shoes and boots, so I know some of the difficulties and pitfalls of the vintage models. One updated feature of the new Footfitter ball and ring is that it has a built-in bolt and thumbscrew to hold the ball and ring in position for several hours to ensure a durable stretch. That sure beats tying the ends of the handle into position for the same effect. The second updated feature is the heavy, shiny, non-rusting covering of the ball and ring. I'm not sure what material the covering is made of, but at least for now, it prevents the ball and ring from staining the shoe with rust. Good updates, Footfitter. Thanks.

Pros
  • Provides a cost-effective alternative to custom-made shoes
Cons
  • The product may take up too much space in a closet or storage area
