My old 12 year old 2TB hard drive, 90% full of all my games and media, started crashing and getting SMART errors. I stumbled across this drive while looking for a deal and it ticked all the boxes I was looking for: 2TB bigger, 7200rpm, decent cache size, brand new, great price, reliable brand and one of the best Warranties on Revain for new old stock wheels. It took about 12 hours to copy 1.85TB from my old drive to this one and I was back in business. I ended up setting up ZFS with ashift=12, encryption (edonr, validation), deduplication, 1MB record size and compression. (lz4) and ended up with 3.5TB of usable space. One day I will order a second of these drives to upgrade my zpool from a drive to a mirror. These drives are ideal for ZFS users on Linux. My only negative comment is that this drive is a little louder than the one it replaced. Since I can't close the side of my system because my GPU is a quarter inch too wide, this is something that others with an acoustically cleaner system might not notice.
