Extremely inaccurate - Gauges and Scales

When I took them out of the box my first thought was "That 1/16 scoop looks too big." We already have 1/8 tsp from another brand , which I use almost every day, so I had a pretty good reference. Since I have a couple of small plastic syringes to administer medication to my cat, I had the perfect measuring tool - a syringe with a 0.01mL graduation. 1/8 teaspoon is approximately 0.63ml. I filled the keg with water, tapped out the air bubbles and then drained the excess water until I had 0.63ml. This amount completely filled my existing 1/8 teaspoon. So 1/16 teaspoon is 0.31 ml, rounded up. Using the same filling procedure, I filled 1/16 teaspoon of this kit with the contents of the syringe. There was plenty of headroom. No way, dammit, that was for sure. The volume of that 1/16 teaspoon is probably closer to my exact 1/8 teaspoon (another brand). As I bought this set for odd sizes like 1/16 and 1/3 teaspoon and they all zip together I am assuming the rest of the set is defective and will be returning it. China. , You can opt for cheap mass production, but when you start messing around with chefs who give us inaccurate gauges, that's not cool.
