Due to budget constraints I had to fight to get a 128GB Retina MacBook Pro and a 500GB Samsung T3 compared to a 256GB MacBook Pro for the web usage. You can google any number of websites that will tell you that 128GB is too small for development. Luckily for me, the Samsung T3 confirmed my choice of 128 GB of onboard storage. When using Parallels desktop, Win8.1 starts about 3 seconds after full shutdown or about 1 second after suspend, and it also takes about 1 second to suspend Win8.1. No doubt it boots faster from the internal drive but a second to boot is perfectly acceptable to me and meanwhile the T3 also has a Time Machine partition for backing up the internal drive and it stores the iTunes folder so this does a triple Duty. I even appreciate the blue LED activity light, which glows when idle, flashes when in use, and flashes orange when removed. BTW, when I first plugged it in, the MacBook Pro didn't recognize the drive, instead it reset the SMC. and NVRAM fixed it and there were no more retries.
