I bought this digital microscope for my son. We already have one with a flexible crane base and I wanted another one with a more traditional tripod or stabilized base. Although this microscope is advertised as working with cell phones, smartphones and tablets, I was unable to connect it. But that's okay because I usually use this with a laptop running Windows 10 and for this purpose - with a USB port - it was plug and play. To be honest, the base of this microscope is not that reliable. as i want. Even when coiled as tightly as possible, it tends to sag or warp under its own weight. Keep this in mind when relying on a stand for rigidity. But on the other hand, for my purposes and for my young son (4 years old), we do not split atoms and do not examine mitochondrial DNA. This video I made is about beach sand and we're going to do that until it's much older. I think we will also look at some leaves, fruits and vegetables. Therefore, the stand is actually not needed at all. Image quality is good, the focus ring works great, and the LED light is a real plus (as you need more light the farther you zoom). In general, I'm happy with everything except the base/stand.
