Spent all Sunday trying to get this to work but couldn't. Worked using Sparkfun's instructions on the product page. At first the interface reported nothing. The "Getting Started" guide then says that the FTDI drivers need to be installed, although I have another Arduino Uno (original item) that installs and works with no problems. The SparkFun website must have at least 3 different guides for installed FTDI drivers, none of which match the FTDI website. This didn't work either. I've spent hours trying different combinations of drivers and ways to get those drivers. Sparkfun, which used to have decent tech support, now doesn't. They just redirect you to their forums which offer 30 more unconfirmed suggestions similar to 3 FTDI installation procedures. And sure enough, my return window had expired, so I was stuck with a $17 brick and a wasted rare day off.
