Review on Capezio Women's Xtreme Tap Shoe – 657 Manhattan by Alex Gilbert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Classic tap dance shoes, good quality, rubber metatarsal plate

This is a VERY good shoe! This is my third pair of Capezio tap shoes that I own. You can't beat the price. I ordered growing up with the brand, love the fit and they seem to last a long time. There are improvements in the leather of the shoe and the arch support. I think they look very good on the foot. I ordered 10 and my street shoe size is 9.5 to 10. I haven't tried them with socks or tights yet but I expect them to be very snug so I don't know what to advise as they don't think that they are too weak. 10.5 would be too long. Use your US shoe size, not the old Capezio dance shoe sizes (e.g. my old shoes, which I assume are light juniors, are a size 8). They have a rubber band at the bottom. I didn't notice this and find it incredibly annoying, but they all have it unless you set up a non-touch version with taps. Update: I ended up giving them 5 stars. After continuous tapping, the last 3 days have relaxed and feel great. I can wear thick or thin socks with them and even a thin wool sock and the latter really helped keep my feet warm and shape the shoe. The heel cup is a bit curved, but that was the case with my other Capezios. I soften them by pressing on them with each heel as I put them on and off and that helps. What's good are the overlays. Gone are those twisted insoles!

Pros
  • Sized to fit street shoes
Cons
  • Not sure
