Cycling shorts can no longer be bought without pads. I don't like both the look and feel of fluffy shorts. So I got this instead. I ordered a size larger than usual and am happy with the size. The shorts are a bit shorter than my cycling shorts, but that's an advantage in 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The material is a bit slick/shiny but they seem to breathe, just like my other cycling shorts. The support they provide is spot on without being annoying. Also, they don't have the typical ribbing on the bottom of the legs so they rise a bit more, but just enough to be an issue. We've gotten through a few months now and they're holding up well. I've decided to get a second pair but am trying the L instead of the XL I bought previously. Very happy with your purchase.
