Probably the best glass. Convenient for everything. Street, no problem. Portraits, it just takes a little getting used to. Sports/reporting in close, does not constrain, does not distract, wide, sharp. Time does not stand still, 24 1.8G came out more modern, sharper, much more contrast, a little larger. Probably even worth the money. Nikon D700 Got pros: Sharp from 2.8. Vignette leaves f4 Not much contrast. Tiny and lightweight. Like a glove on square cameras. Nothing hangs and does not outweigh. Inexpensive filters. Blend is not needed. Instant, precise focus. (D700) Easy access to hyperfocal for street (φ8-2m). Some cons: F2.8, almost 1:3 - a bit dark. Small highlights in the counter, but the source must be very bright. Some write "unfashionable screwdriver" or the focus ring rotates, I don't see this as a problem.
