A valuable purchase, some advantages!

Its pros: Great little lightweight lens. Sharp, with a beautiful picture. Inexpensive. With its cons. The standard Nikon construct, the same as that of all his peers, leaves a feeling of some fragility. Although this does not affect the quality of the picture.

Just super, the product is made wonderfully, very satisfied.

Very like. I don’t regret a bit the money spent on this miracle glass) You can get used to focusing on extreme points and find a (deceptive) maneuver to take pictures) All creative success) Got pros: Cutting Quick Wide (especially cool for the full format, for which I bought it) Not expensive (For new ones now, the prices are hoo . but I bought a BU in perfect condition for 8000r) - you can’t find similar analogues with such quality for such money. Very compact With its cons. Closer to the

The purchase brought only positive emotions.

Probably the best glass. Convenient for everything. Street, no problem. Portraits, it just takes a little getting used to. Sports/reporting in close, does not constrain, does not distract, wide, sharp. Time does not stand still, 24 1.8G came out more modern, sharper, much more contrast, a little larger. Probably even worth the money. Nikon D700 Got pros: Sharp from 2.8. Vignette leaves f4 Not much contrast. Tiny and lightweight. Like a glove on square cameras. Nothing hangs and does not…

Good lens for running

The lens I bought was from a non-photographic company and had bad reviews. I took the plunge and ordered it anyway, believing I could always return it within 30 days if I wasn't satisfied. The lens is well shaped and takes good pictures. This particular model doesn't have VR, but I haven't noticed any drop in performance due to the lack of it. The 24-85mm lens is compact and covers the most common focal length ranges, making it very suitable as a walking FX lens.

Great for camera lenses so far

At the moment this lens is close in performance to my highly acclaimed 18-35mm ED Nikon lens which had a slightly shorter zoom range (I use it indoors and for some landscapes) for traveling with a lens so I bought this to fill that niche during my fall hike. So far I'm very impressed with its performance, sharpness and quite sharp with great color reproduction and tone. I wanted the famous 35-70 but not the weight or the high price. With a 24-85mm lens I'll try to come back to it when I really…

Huge vignetting on the D850

I bought this item as a general purpose lens for my D850 because it is more compact than the 24-70 f2.8. I realize this is an old lens but thought it would work. Whilst I have nothing but praise for the seller and the overall excellent condition of the lens (in fact it was in better condition than described), the bottom line is that the lens on my D850 exhibits significant vignetting at almost all focal lengths. I haven't been able to fix issues in Lightroom (either using the provided lens…

I really like this lens, despite Ken Rockwell's review on it.

What a basic (FUU!) Tamron lens, labeled and marketed as a Nikon lens. I really admire Rockwell and their device reviews, but I decided to take a chance and I'm very happy with it. I'm sure technically I'm a lot less picky than Ken. I can't find any unwanted distortion or vignetting at any of the focal lengths and have reviewed the entire range since purchasing this lens. In my long photographic history I have acquired several obscenely expensive (in hindsight) highly advertised lenses to which

A good lens and disappointment at the same time?

, I bought this lens a few years ago to replace the 18-105 kit lens that was paired with my D90. I started to do a lot of figure skating and wanted something that worked a little faster but wasn't expensive. Back then I had some old cheap Nikkor lenses from my FM2 and N70 days and really didn't want to go down the Tam/Tok/Sig route so I settled on this 24-85. I have used the lens extensively (and continue to use it), but I have to say that while the lens can perform very well, I have never been

Good product, not disappointed.

I do not have this glass - I used someone else's. Impressions are positive - I wouldn’t say that AH - but it’s very convenient for its compactness, unfortunately you can’t do without an editor - vignetting and aberration are not up to par, it will be less noticeable for crop, I think so - and I plan to buy it for myself, but only when the old lens under a screwdriver without a stub will cost adequately. None of the lenses are worth the money they ask for.

Pros
  • Lightweight comfortable
Cons
  • Vignette, chromatic.

Good product, more pros than cons.

I took it for landscapes and in connection with the transition from DX (D80) to FX (D800). I leave a review after viewing the results of home and street shooting. Working aperture immediately from 2.8, more than 11 - diffraction is noticeable. I noted about HA at the edges of the frame, but this is visible at high magnification, the same with blurring. Added after a trip to Altai and shooting mountain landscapes. After entering AF compensation at "-5", aperture at 8: the sharpness is amazing…

Pros
  • 1. Quite quickly and accurately focuses; 2. Lightweight, small; 3. Japanese assembly (a trifle, but nice)
Cons
  • 1. There is no lens hood in the kit and it does not fit, but is screwed into the thread for filters (I thought it was a trifle, but it showed up at the first exit to nature); 2. HA are noticeable at the edges, but are easily removed already in ViewNX2
