Review on Nikon NIKKOR 24 85Mm 2 8 4D Cameras by Athit Lordkaew ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product, more pros than cons.

I took it for landscapes and in connection with the transition from DX (D80) to FX (D800). I leave a review after viewing the results of home and street shooting. Working aperture immediately from 2.8, more than 11 - diffraction is noticeable. I noted about HA at the edges of the frame, but this is visible at high magnification, the same with blurring. Added after a trip to Altai and shooting mountain landscapes. After entering AF compensation at "-5", aperture at 8: the sharpness is amazing from foreground to infinity. Excellent detail. But the picture is pale, weak colors compared to ZOOM on the same 24 mm. For a pro - rather weak, but suits me.

Pros
  • 1. Quite quickly and accurately focuses; 2. Lightweight, small; 3. Japanese assembly (a trifle, but nice)
Cons
  • 1. There is no lens hood in the kit and it does not fit, but is screwed into the thread for filters (I thought it was a trifle, but it showed up at the first exit to nature); 2. HA are noticeable at the edges, but are easily removed already in ViewNX2

I traded it for Sigma 15-30mm, which I am still very happy about)

Different pros: Great little lightweight lens. Sharp, with a beautiful picture. Inexpensive. Has cons: The standard Nikon construct, the same as that of all his peers, leaves a feeling of some fragility. Although this does not affect the quality of the picture.
