The tool works but not in heavy conditions. I bent it the first time I tried to remove the locking ring on my cassette. I bent it and was finally able to remove the locking ring. Remember that the locking ring needs a really hard hit to move it, so you have a lot of torque acting as a backup on this tool. In order to be able to hold it securely, one has to feel one's hand on one of the large cogs, which can lead to a slight lateral moment when further away from the locking ring. Since the tool is flat, it is not very resistant to this lateral moment. So you can get it to work, but you have to be careful that it doesn't rotate at all.
