I had a hard time keeping the blades sharp. What I noticed when sharpening the blades on this sharpener is that the blade can move so you have to stay still when the blade goes through. The big part where your blade goes through kind of falls off and your blade doesn't stay on course so you have to guide them with your hand and your eye. Blades don't stay sharp for some reason. I have many different knives and they all become blunt at the same time? Overall the sharpener is good and I like the fact that the straps are replaceable although they don't last very long.
