I give 5 stars because it is very well made. For such an inexpensive diffuser, it is quite suitable. I've been using it daily over a powerful gas stove for two weeks now. Two-layer construction means the top helps dissipate heat for the hot underside. It changes color with each use. This thermal patination is for you. This is not the right item if you have a large burner grate and a tiny moka pot and want to balance your small pot over the flame. This is well suited for long-term heat dissipation over a large area, such as a B. a tagine. The same two-layer design that makes it work for clay pots boils the water too slowly to maintain the pressure at which the mocha pot leaks. I ended up buying a diffuser ring (the "Ilsa Diffusor Ring" on Revain for US citizens) and I think I'll recycle or donate this product. Or maybe start cooking in clay pots.
