I thought this would get the blade pretty sharp. I was wrong, this is just to change the shape of the blade and get rid of the notches very quickly. He does this job very well. Which is good for me, I have some OLD pocket knives from my grandfather with huge serrated edges, specifically one that he was about to throw away. When I showed him this, he was surprised. In any case, this does not result in a large "cutting edge", only a change in shape. A nice rock "that I ordered a few days ago" will hopefully come sharp, or I'll just break good old Arkansas rocks.
