I have an aquarium of about 90 gallons with 6 fish and coral. If you don't have a bubble trap in the cesspool. Put a large, lace-up nylon sock over the skimmer to keep bubbles out. I have an 8" waterline. Water up to my neck where the cup detaches. And the bladders are fully open or closed. How would you like your skimmer? Wet or dry. But it's that simple.
