Review on ANGGOER Bike Repair Stand Quick Release: Adjustable, Portable & Sturdy Maintenance Rack for Road & Mountain Bikes - 85 lbs Capacity by Bim Cook

Limited use, but a good start.

I have a basic CXWXC folding bike stand to compare to this one. The West bike stand wins because it's more portable, but loses in almost every aspect to the much cheaper CXWXC. I was planning on leaving the large and heavy kickstand at home and using the vest at work to support my commuter bike for that part of my everyday life. to travel. Smaller/memory friendly features are part of my requirement for this place. I like the widely spaced tripod legs in the West because they're stable, but I found that when using it in my office where space was limited, I couldn't stand against a wall because of my leg, so I ended up with one Leg right where I worked. It was a bit annoying and almost made me work on the bike without a stand because of it. -1 star. My bike is heavy. I go through a lot of bike stuff and tend to carry a lot of bags, racks, lights and cameras on my bike every day. When I tested this rack, my bike weighed 50 pounds. This is well below the 85 pounds required by the West. I was only able to use the west stand by tightening the sliding center clamp to the point where I thought it would break. He slid further down. I also had to forego the usual seatpost mounting point and go for a more central part of the frame because the kickstand wouldn't hold up. The frame clamp has/has some protective rubber that is fully lubricated by the underside of the clamp in this position. -1 star. There are no handlebar mounts, and there's really nothing on the post for a makeshift stabilizer bar to attach. If you've ever repaired your bike, you know that you need to keep the steering in a stable position. When the steering wheel goes haywire, maintaining the front end becomes a pain. -1 star. The key to using such a tool is that it makes your job easier. The system on this stand that triggers the holding arm is terrible. The black plastic has teeth that will hook and not let go. It's almost impossible to flip the clip around like the guy does at the 20 second mark in the product video. He was only able to do this because he pulled the teeth out almost to the end with his fingers using a screw. It's not something you can do with or without a pinch wheel. -1 star. I own several West cycling products and have always given them very high marks for the most part. I'm very happy with their build quality and engineering, but in this case I'm very disappointed. While I like this stand because it's portable, I can't recommend it because it also needs to be functional. Oh, and the bag is flimsy, leaving no room for a tool tray. -1 last star.
