This was the first MacBook battery I've replaced but I've had computers apart for mobo replacements and similar. This kit is pretty good that it does include the needed tools to remove case and disconnect battery. But missing is the alcohol needed to help remove the battery adhesive.Helpful to search for how-to as there are several tutorials written and on Youtube that greatly augment the included instructions. Missing from the instructions was it was easier to remove the trackpad before attempting to remove the adhesive. Also there the connector with the very wide screw head is the main power connector - best to cover its contacts or the battery's circuit board so it doesn't inadvertently make contact when replacing the battery. The kit does include an absorbent cloth to protect the screen when applying alcohol during battery adhesive removal but others suggested to cover/wrap the screen in foil and then the cloth. Glad I did as I accidentally applied too much alcohol at first and the cloth wasn't sufficient, the foil protected the screen.I also had issue that I needed to cut the protective plastic between the 3 battery modules to fit the battery into the case. The fit was tight, which is good, so definitely fit it before connecting and removing adhesive covers.Eventually all back together and it initially had about a 50% charge and I'm in process of full-charge/full-discharge/full-charge cycle to help the Macbook calibrate the new battery. Overall a great value for the DIY'er
