I was reluctant to cover my hardwood stair treads with carpet but it became necessary for our older dog to be able to safely go up and down the stairs. These carpet treads blend perfectly with the color of our wood steps so they aren't overly obvious nor detract from the look of the stairs. Our dog is much more secure using the stairs and so are we! The treads do not move at all. The are very easy to remove and reposition if necessary without leaving any residue on the wood and they are also easy to vacuum. The only downside would be that the raised area of this design is showing some wear after a couple of months but we'll simply remove and put down a new one when necessary! We are very pleased with this purchase and option for our stairs and dog!
