I bought the K2 because most mechanical keyboards are designed with a "gamer aesthetic" and I needed support for multiple devices, like Logitech has it on its keyboards. Unfortunately, the Base K2 doesn't have an aluminum backplate compared to the K1, which makes you wonder why you're paying so much for a keyboard. However, the plastic is fairly well constructed and the features really make this keyboard shine. First, support for multiple devices via wired and Bluetooth. I use multiple devices between Windows and macOS, so the OS-specific modes were a really nice experience. Type-C cable, this is very nice. The input is what you expect. I have brown switches (I was going to buy red ones but brown ones were on sale) so both typing and playing are a pleasure. The backlight is great, but when I bought the non-RGB version of the K2 I wasn't expecting it to include the same flash patterns as the RGB version, which annoys me as I was expecting the backlight to just be off . Compared to the K1, however, this isn't as much of an issue as it's not as low profile and it's harder to hit the backlight button. I think there is a firmware update that will give you the light pattern locking feature so it will likely fix this issue. However, I have found some strange things going on with this keyboard. It doesn't work well over Bluetooth with some macOS devices and seems to keep my 2008 Macbook Pro awake all the time, which is very annoying. A firmware update may fix this in the future. Thanks to the backlight power savings, I get over 2 days of battery life with the backlight on when it's active. I usually leave it plugged in because I need a wired connection, but I wouldn't say the battery life is too bad given the backlight. -Device support. I think the K2 is a bit overpriced, but if you can get it cheap it's a very good keyboard. Just make sure you really want to invest in using mechanical keys as they may not be the best way to type for some people.
