Still unreliable.

I was so excited to get this sewing machine for my almost 9 year old granddaughter for Christmas. She was delighted when she opened it and spent the rest of the family visit at my home in my tailor shop. The car is very easy for her. She immediately started sewing 5 inch squares for her first quilt. She kept complaining to me that she kept coming without a thread. Looking at it I noticed that the thread got stuck in some kind of mechanism where the lever moves up and down with the thread (see arrow in the attached photo). Luckily I have several long nosed tweezers and I can get in there and grab the suture bundle and pull it out. I sent her home with tweezers and instructed her parents how to remove the balls of thread for her. I filled up the car for them so I don't think it was a tanking mistake. That's very disappointing. I had to spend money on my brother's simple car. It may turn out to be a "broken toy" and a $58 error. I look forward to hearing from her how she is when she gets home and uses it.
