The Cadilliac of Crutches!

HEAVY DUTY:These are very sturdy (I weigh >300 lbs) and they don't even creak, let along bow and feel shaky like some others. They have shock absorbing springs in them which takes a little bit of getting used to (because they give), but even at my weight, they feel very strong and sturdy.LEG RESTS:I ended up removing the leg rests, because I can't/won't ever use them, but for someone that had one leg weaker than the other (or an injury that they wanted to rest off the ground), they could be very useful. I am equally weak in both legs, so I can't stand on one leg anyway (even with crutches).FOREARM CLAMPS:The forearm clamps are extremely comfortable; so much more comfortable than the old metal cuffs; and, they are adjustable! That means that if I am wearing a heavy coat or a tee-shirt, I can adjust the forearm clamps to be perfect for whatever I am wearing without them cutting off my circulation.CRUTCH TIPS:These are the best crutch tips I have ever seen. I no longer have to worry about falling through sidewalk grates or elevator gaps because these are wide enough that those small hazards are completely eliminated. Also, they work really well in gravel and even in sand. I can now go hiking without fear of my crutches slipping out from underneath me and falling.HAND GRIPS:The ergonomic hand grips are great; very comfortable and they have totally eliminated my hand cramping if I am on my feet (and crutches) for extended periods of time.ADJUSTMENTS:The adjustments are very easy to make (I didn't even have to consult the manual). First-time crutch users may have some problems because there are more adjustments than other crutches, but if you have a history of using mobility assistance devices, these will be a piece of cake.STORAGE:The fact that these fold over make them so much easier to store on an airplane now. Before, the stewardesses always had to stow them and then I had to wait for them to get them out of the closet for me before I could deplane. I can now fold them and fit them in the overhead compartment so I can grab them when I want them and get off the plan with everyone else.WEIGHT:These are a bit on the heavy side, but for all of the pluses they provide, I did not consider this a negative issue.BELLS AND WHISTLES:The reflectors are a nice touch since I do like to walk in the evenings at a park across the street from my house. But, the best part of all are the built-in flashlights. I don't have to carry a separate flashlight in my pocket now when I am walking out at night (or worse yet, try to carry one in my hand while using the crutches). They illuminate the area in front of you pretty well (they're not very powerful), but can assist in helping you see where you're putting your feet (or where you've dropped your house keys!) as long as you're paying attention.OVERALL:I have used lots of different crutches and canes over the years (I am 57) and these are the best ones I have every used. Mine were not covered by insurance (because they weren't sold by a pharmacy or medical supply store in my insurance plan's approved list), but they were well worth the investment and even if I have to buy a new pair every year; it will be worth it. I imagine (just like other crutches) that the hand grips and tips will wear out the fastest.
