Many years ago, when driving on the road, a manifold flange came loose from the right-hand manifold. I welded it back on but not in the position it was in when it was done. When it came time to swap out the headers, the new pair had the flange in the correct position, as did the other before it broke. This unique device made it possible to cut the pipe, turn the end with the flange welded to it about an inch or two, and bolt it back on without having to go to a muffler shop to cut and weld the pipe. There doesn't seem to be any leaks. Saved me a pack, hooray!
