Installed this yesterday in no time. I had an issue where the connection between the muffler and the exhaust pipe was rusting and coming loose. I sawed off the old muffler clamp and joined the two pieces with this piston clamp and it worked perfectly. The butt clamp is well made.

So far so good. I then used straight pipe, removed an 07 Ram 2500 muffler, put in a 4" piece of pipe and these clamps hold everything together perfectly.There is a small amount of leakage around the bottom of the clamps but nothing major with the sound of a straight pipe coming out the back.

Can't beat $12. I had to cut the Y-pipe to replace the motor so I cut my 3" pipe and replaced the motor, put the Y-pipe back in place and started the motor. About 2 weeks with the clamp on my pipe and not a single leak only time will tell how it holds up but I think it will hold up well

These couplings are designed to leave a gap where the bolts go through. There is no inner sleeve that completely seals it, so leakage is guaranteed. If you're like me trying to join two pipes together, this isn't for you. I cut open a few soda cans and lined them up inside to prevent leaks, but that still didn't completely fix the problem. In general. Yes they hold the pipes together and yes they are decent quality. But they are guaranteed to leak if you connect the pipes end to end.

. I've driven about 200 miles since I connected the balls from the headers to the X-pipe and side panels and marked the line with a marker and they haven't moved an inch. Zero movement in the whole system, I'm impressed. My first intention was to poke it just to set it up properly and then take it to a friend's shop to have it welded, but I can just leave it as is. Many years ago, when driving on the road, a manifold flange came loose from the right-hand manifold. I welded it back on but not in the position it was in when it was done. When it came time to swap out the headers, the new pair had the flange in the correct position, as did the other before it broke.
