If you have a DVI monitor but your computer only has a display port, get that one.
My company edition of the Lattitude E5440 easily recognizes an older Optiquest LCD monitor with a DVI connection via a DisplayPort connector on the port replicator. The image looks stable and is recognized at every start. I got this because I didn't want an unattractive DisplayPort to DVI dongle hanging from the back of my port replicator. The cable is of typical cable quality and should withstand typical monitor cable abuse. Now everyone at work is jealous of my three monitor setup!
