Worth every penny, hundreds saved

As a city tourist in a Ford Ranger. I travel a lot in the USA. So I think it's a good idea to keep an eye on my vehicle while driving. I have sensors for all fluids (oil, transmission, power steering and coolant) that let me know if there is a problem. I've followed the life of trucks except for one important aspect, the electrical system. I didn't really have room to install another sensor that I could see at a glance from the driver's seat. During my search I came across this surveillance system. It was exactly what I needed, just plug it into the cigarette lighter 12 volt port (oops, my age shows) and it controls the electrical system. About a month ago I was traveling through the middle of nowhere on a late Friday night. The monitor showed me that my generator was not working properly. So I checked my alternator as soon as I got a chance (caught a nice guy closing his parts shop). This is verified as marginal. In other words, he was on the brink of death. So this little monitor alerted me to an issue where I had to wait at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere for a tow truck. The tug alone would have cost me a lot more than what I paid for the monitor. Considering I live in my truck, travel motel price for two days, and the food easily runs into the hundreds of dollars. Just for fun waiting for my generator to be tested. This monitor has already paid for itself hundreds of times over.
