I took it out of ignorance that there will be a version of V3. I wanted to make a VPN server out of the router at the same time to combine home networks, but the standard firmware does not allow you to set up at least some normally functioning server on it. Even slipping a config normally working on bare Linux through SSH did not help, it is constantly overwritten by the autoconfigurator. I used to deal with ASUS (RT-N12D1 and RT-AC51U) and, in general, imagined that ASUS-WRT was tailored for beginners without the possibility of stepping aside, but there was hope for alternative firmware . As a result, OpenWRT was also a bummer , it does not support this revision of the router due to a special processor (although it seems like QUALCOMM is a Linux-friendly hardware manufacturer). In general, if you just need a working router that distributes the Internet and nothing more, then you can take it, you should not count on something more.
