Surprisingly durable for folding furniture.
At first I was disappointed that the base wasn't a solid rectangular piece. The base is folded, you open it and put the lid on top. However, it is surprisingly durable! Sitting on it is pretty firm and it won't rock unless you try to make it rock. My husband even used it to stand up to reach for something and it worked flawlessly. It wasn't what I thought when it came out, but I'm still very happy with it.
