The density of the rubber is surprising given how supple it is. Typically, I switch to snow tires well in advance of any accumulation of the white stuff. I've only ever driven on ice a handful of times, and each time it was late at night. At speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, the car was easily managed and responded confidently to the steering wheel. Moving in wet snow is simple; there is no need to roll and swim. Even while going around corners slowly or at a medium clip, nothing bad happens. The rubber is among the best I've tried in my 15 years as a driver, if you discount the spikes.
