Review on Conquer the Outdoors with ALTRA ALM1963P Wahweap Running Shoes by Luis Green

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for one, bad for the other.

Nice, comfortable summer shoes. Focused on the approach to the shoe, with particular attention to the ball of the foot and protection when walking uphill. Typical Altra sizing, runs small/correct, depends on how much room you want in the toe box (12 gives me a standard size similar to Saucony 12, as opposed to the Lone Peak sizing where 12 is actually 11.5). Don't expect running shoes. . This is an approach shoe with a hard, grippy sole. I wouldn't choose them for a continuous hike, but they're good for uphills and beers after the climb.

Pros
  • Good stability and arch support
Cons
  • May not be suitable for high-intensity workouts
