have noticed that my lamp actually seems a little warmer than before. This is an old lamp; It's been going on for over 10 years and I think something happened to the chemistry of the wax and solution in the lamp. It had not been used for about a year with a burned out lightbulb, and part of it had been thrown on its side during that time. These bulbs work perfectly. Time for a new lamp! Original post: These bulbs do not heat the "lava" in my lava lamp to make it flow and move. I left the lamp on for 8 hours and all the "lava" barely rose from the bottom of the lamp. The old lightbulb was 25 volts and so is this one, but they don't generate enough heat to get the lava flowing.
