I bought this product because I have it at my place of work and it is a very good station. $550 is cool for something I use occasionally, but I'm sick of the Radio Shack and Home Depot brands. The product came without a soldering tip. For $550 you could start with a couple of soldering tips.2. Eventually bought a genuine Hakko T15-IL tip and a few Chinese fakes but measured the resistance to make sure it was within Hakko specs. I get SE permanently when I plug in the cables. Make sure the tips are inserted correctly. Nothing! still SE.3 error. I took it to work and used the tips that work properly on a workbench. nope! SE error. Put the tips that worked normally back on the work table. Now this station has an SE error. Apparently the base closed the sensor. It looks like the problem is in the database. I'll be back. I really like this soldering station. So I'll try again and find a replacement. Also, I've already ordered a $70 tip and probably already spent 4 of them. My rating may change if the next one works well. But very annoying at the moment.
