They are huge. Wine in goblets of this size has not been drunk since the Middle Ages when they were well watered. 20 oz is actually 2 ½ cups. I bought them as water glasses. Or you can use them for large rum cocktails, iced tea, lemonade, iced coffee, lattes or sorbets. They would be good for summer desserts. They look good but be honest, if you're buying something shatterproof you're not buying fine crystal and they won't feel or look the same! At outdoor events, big events, events where drinking too much alcohol can happen, or glasses being left in all sorts of weird places for weeks, or even being thrown in the bin by thoughtless people, that's acceptable. ! More than acceptable, much nicer than previous unbreakable mugs and many steps above Wine in Solo mugs. In fact, if you're a wine connoisseur and want nothing more than that perfect glass between you and your wine, you don't need them! Buy inexpensive glassware for your events. If it is unbreakable, then there are seams and occasional defects. But most won't notice them, they will wonder where you found such wonderful creations! If you have people young or young at heart in your home, they are safe. Leave some for the kids to drink juice or ginger ale or non-alcoholic wine at events. You can play Lords and Ladies of the Castle and those points are safe in your hands. I have functional nerve loss in my hands so I can wear nice glasses without fear of breaking them. This can be helpful and inclusive for people with families with people with disabilities. I will hand wash them, many manufacturers say they can be washed in the dishwasher, or just with dish soap which I couldn't find. They don't list the temperature settings they are safe at and during my research I noticed comments about them melting during drying cycles! In addition, we all know that the temperature of dishwashers varies, and the age of our dishwashers also varies. Most of us need the ability to increase the temperature of our dishwasher during cold and flu season and during the Covid 19 pandemic. Some dishwashing detergents fog up safety glass. So washing a few glasses by hand really isn't much. You wouldn't wash fine glass or crystal dishes in the dishwasher, would you? It's also a way to teach children how to care for fine crystal and specialty glassware rather than accidentally putting them in their learning hands. Shatterproof glasses and melamine dishes are a much better substitute! I think that this is a very beautiful dish, I noticed that the seams of this brand are almost imperceptible and even require a serious search. All 12 glasses (3 sets) I received had smooth edges and no noticeable flaws. They cost almost as much as ordinary glasses but I won't break them and I can enjoy my wine in them! I would highly recommend them but respectfully suggest using them as goblets rather than wine glasses or your wine won't get far. A standard serving of wine is 3-6 ounces, white or red.
