Works well and saves my money

Basically I need a CO2 monitor to make sure the CO2 levels in my house are not getting too high. It seems to work. I tested it first by breathing on it for a few minutes and the reading went over 3000ppm (which is the max) then back to 750 when I stopped. After being in my bedroom where no one was it dropped to 550. After being there for a while it was about 750. I had the fresh air supply on and it dropped to 650. I was exercising in the room and this went up to 1200. I don't have a way to test its accuracy, but it seems to be doing what I need. Basically, I just want to watch out for when the CO2 level gets too high. Has 2 alert levels. I set the first to 800 and the second to 1200. At 800 the yellow light comes on and I just know it's getting high. At 12:00 the red light comes on and that shows me that I need to act (this only happens when I'm exercising in the room, and when I open the window it turns yellow again). The alarms also cause an annoying beeping sound that cannot be turned off. But if you remove the back panel, then in the center of the board is a plastic cylinder that houses the speaker. I levered out the speaker with pliers and now the device works without any annoying noise. This saved me money by being able to adjust the fresh air intake that brings in outside air so the air inside doesn't stagnate. But it requires a lot of electricity to operate and provides hot summer air and cold winter air that needs even more electricity to cool/heat. I've reduced my fresh air intake from 50 minutes an hour to 15 minutes an hour, which should save me a lot on energy bills, and yet it's still enough to keep the CO2 levels below 1000ppm (barring some special circumstances like the workout when I just open the window). Tracking data turned out to be meaningless for me. It only tracks when your computer is on, and I don't keep my computer on all the time. Also, the meter only works when connected to a power source, so every time I turn off the computer, the meter turns off as well. Now I just leave it plugged into the wall.

Pros
  • 3 different LED displays for current indoor air quality
Cons
  • Slightly torn
