This is NOT for a child; no one under 16 should even attempt it. The instructions are pretty useless, and there are many layers and supports in the structure that take time to analyze. Putting parts together will cause other parts to pop out and require repair. You have to have a lot of patience and put the parts together in 3D positions by "putting your hands together and constantly reworking". If you are an adult with good spatial awareness, give it a try. But don't even try that with an impatient teenager. We ended up waiting for a 13 year old to go to bed and stayed up fixing it and doing layers (they don't explain layering and "directions" are entirely in grayscale with no guidelines.
