These bolts have completely replaced the factory bolts. They came with tread blocking material already bolted on, so there was no need to remove Loctite. On the 3.4 liter Buick engine, the bolts are torque and angle turning bolts and are intended to be used only once. The base half of the intake manifold had to be tightened to give way and they were perfect for that. You could probably omit the top screws as you really can't tighten the end screws, this isn't possible due to the design of the headstock so you could probably omit half of those screws. The fit and length were perfect for the OE bolts.
