My kids didn't play with their hoverboards in a year until we got these. The only downside is that hoverboards run out of power within 10 minutes. I assume they run much faster (full throttle) with the jet as they only used a fraction when stationary. If it makes sense I can't tell you how much performance our boards (purchased from Target) have, but we have two different styles of boards and have tested them on both.
