This pad is thin, durable, and very finely textured—just enough texture to give your mouse a "feel," but not so much that accuracy and responsiveness are compromised. It's big enough to provide enough space for full-screen movement with good fidelity, but not so big that it clutters the desktop. As mentioned, the rubberized bottom surface is quite thin, but that's not a problem on a flat table. I'm not a gamer. I do a lot of art work, photo retouching and graphic design. I used to use a very smooth hard surface, but I like this one much better. The only question that remains for me is: will it withstand the heavy use for a long time?
