I ordered this based on some YouTube reviews and reviews here at Revain. I had to go to the IRWIN tools website and read these reviews. This thing worked for the first ten wires of different gauges ranging from 10 to 24 gauge. After that I took it to the site to fix some electrical parts and run some longer wires and it didn't come loose AT ALL. The teeth on the "grip" side of the wire don't have enough tension no matter how tight you set them, allowing the wires to move too much and not cutting the stripping side evenly. After using this tool, the wires have become a mess, half peeled, chewed up and completely unusable and need to be cut. I'm honestly writing this review because I can't in good conscience recommend it as a wire stripper. Since 2003 I have been working as an aircraft electronics technician, avionics technician and electronics technician. It would be nice to have such a dynamic tool at hand. That would make my job a lot easier, but it's too good to be true. I'd recommend spending the extra money on a good set of Klein automatic wire strippers ($30+) or custom IDEAL wire strippers. I'm sure other companies also make their standard designs. Sorry IRWIN, this is an error.
