This third railing (only 3ft long) took twice as long to install as the previous 6ft and 5ft railings (see ). Wood braces (3 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/2") were painted black and attached to the plaster with the included plastic anchors and 3" screws. The railing posts were then attached to the wooden braces with the screws provided. Since the included screws are longer than 1 1/2 inches, use a masonry drill bit to slightly lengthen the screw holes in the plaster. Three railings (3ft + 6ft + 5ft) were required to improve the safety of our 14 side steps (total). Strong as stone, these high quality railings attach securely to posts, bricks and plaster.
