Or really for those who don't have a trigger welder. I used them to connect the ends of my Magnaflow catalytic converter pipe, muffler and tailpipes on my Dodge Dakota (I used 6 total). Since I don't have a welder and hate clamps, this is the best thing in the world. Best suited for quick connection of exhaust pipes, allowing easy access for later upgrades or replacements without having to cut the pipe. Grade 8 stainless steel screws, stainless steel sheet metal for the clamps (this helps better than the stainless steel on my Magnaflow parts) and also comes with a black tacky high temp putty pad to hold the clamp in place while tightening. The putty isn't a binder, so you can still remove them. The putty retains its tack, allowing the clips to be used multiple times before needing to be replaced. For those who don't know the difference between a lap joint and a butt joint, it's how the tubes fit together. If you have a pipe that goes into the end of another pipe, the pipe it goes into usually has a slightly larger end, then you have a lap joint and that's what you need. Butt joints are when you join two pipes together that don't slide into each other. For these (assuming you are looking for 2.5" clamps) you will need part number 33240. These are your butt clamps.
