🔩 Dynomax 33226 Stainless Steel Band Clamp with Reinforced Hardware Review

Stainless steel clamps are not rocket science so all I can say is that these clamps hold the muffler well to the pipe. I use the goop as instructed and blow in air. The clamp holds tight and tight, nothing leaks out. Exactly what I want in such a simple part.

Just to let everyone know, these are overlap clips. They clamp a pipe joint that goes into another. I ordered them even though my brain must have been accidentally dead. I really needed the clamps for the joints. In the end everything worked out. They're some kind of killer braces. I used them 8 years ago. The bolts were completely rusted, but the yokes never leaked. I used an angle grinder with a cut-off wheel to remove it.

They cover more pipe surface than I expected from the pictures which is good. They have created an airtight seal and I'm sure they will hold tight over time without the tubing twisting like U clamps do. I may never use these U-clamps on lap joints again, assuming I can get a tight enough lap joint to begin with. My comments apply only to this version (33226) of the collar, which is designed for lap splicing.

This is a 2.5" stainless steel **splice** outlet. Overlapping means that the materials overlap each other and do not abut where the materials abut. This means that one end accommodates the overlapping exhaust pipe while the smaller end clamps the pipe tighter with a slip fit. You get a lap joint when you have a slip-fit exhaust pipe, where one pipe slides into the other. I was frustrated with my exhaust pipe coming out of the manifold after every other ride on my Charger R/T, so I started researching and reading up on different types of clamps I could use I this clip might help. Or really for those who don't have a trigger welder. I used them to connect the ends of my Magnaflow catalytic converter pipe, muffler and tailpipes on my Dodge Dakota (I used 6 total). Since I don't have a welder and hate clamps, this is the best thing in the world. Best suited for quick connection of exhaust pipes, allowing easy access for later upgrades or replacements without having to cut the pipe.
