After 9 months of use in my reef tank I received a horrible phone call from home while I was at work that an alarm had gone off in the tank. I was able to reset the controller, but after a few hours it didn't work again. I contacted Inkbird about the warranty and waiver and they said it was most likely a temperature sensor error. A few weeks later I received a replacement sensor and the issue was resolved. My only complaint about the replacement part is that they wanted the owner to assemble it. I'm an electronics engineer by trade so I took it a step further and soldered it into the motherboard. I worry about customers who don't have the resources to properly complete repairs. Inkbird must pay for proper repairs while the device is under warranty. Update: A few days later the controller failed again and Inkbird promptly sent a replacement. I am giving this model 3 stars due to warranty issues. The customer should never be asked to perform a repair.
